He began his professional audio career as a recording and mixing engineer. As a staff engineer at Paramount Studios (Hollywood) and Guess Recording (North Hollywood), he recorded and engineered sessions for Tupac Shakur, Tone-Loc, Mavis Staples, The Cult, Steve Vai, General Public, Carole King, and Montell Jordan (RIAA Platinum “This Is How We Do It” album).
